Lead crystal also called crystal, is a lead glass which has been machine or hand cut with features. Lead oxide is added to the molten glass which gives the lead crystal a much higher index of refraction and is valued for its brilliance and clarity than normal glass. However, much concern has been given to dish wares made of lead crystal, because of the health threat that it poses. The risk of lead release to food with lead crystal wares has been given much study and the public has been cautioned with the dangers of lead exposure through these crystals.

Studies have shown that the quantity of lead in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages when consumed from a lead crystal glass during a meal is about 0.2 parts per million, which is the maximum lead concentration allowed in food and beverages in Canada. However, up to 20 parts per million, which is one hundred times higher than the Canadian limit, have been found in wines kept for weeks in lead crystal bottles. The risk of lead release is lower if the lead crystal ware is only used for a short period of time such as the course of a meal.

Lead exposure or lead poisoning through these lead crystal wares, is not always easy to identify. A person can be symptom-free or just have symptoms comparable to flu, including headache, fatigue, weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps. Constant exposure to small amounts of lead through daily use of lead crystals, can affect the nervous system and brain, causing depression, forgetfulness, memory loss, and disturbances in mental and physical performance. High amounts of lead in the body can destroy the brain and kidneys, increase risk of miscarriages, affect fertility, stillbirths, and premature deliveries for pregnant women.

The possible health risks from lead crystal wares occurs when lead that is absorbed into the body travels in the blood to soft tissues such as the liver, kidneys, and the brain. After more than a few weeks, any lead that has not been removed from the body is stored in the bones and teeth, where it can stay for decades. The lead stored may be re-released into the blood and soft tissues during pregnancy, serious illness, breastfeeding, advancing age, or after a bone is broken. Lead can be transferred to the developing baby in pregnancy.

Lead crystal wares have been a favorite among household because of the charm and elegance it brings with it. Nevertheless, careful inspection that the lead crystal ware meets the strict lead and cadmium limits or standards before purchasing them for household use is very much recommended. Not all countries have the same strict lead and cadmium limits, so if planning to purchase some while abroad, make sure they meet the correct standards.

Enter Tony Crisp’s Dream Dictionary

Dreams have their own stories to share. They tell something of what a dreamer is feeling, or thinking, be the dreamer aware of his/her sentiments or not, towards a particular situation in the “waking world” or an overall memory defining the dreamer’s path in life.

All in all, they say something of what the dreamer is truly thinking within his/her subconscious mind.

Over the years, dream therapists have come into playing the roles of dream dictionaries, standing as guides for dreamers, in understanding what their dreams mean, what they have to say and more importantly, what they say about the dreamer.

Tony Crisp, author of the Dream Dictionary: An A to Z Guide to Understanding Your Unconscious Mind, has packaged twenty two years worth of research into one book, truly making it a dream dictionary for one and all.

Dream Dictionary is a book jam packed with information regarding dreams, what they mean and what they imply. The book features the latest breakthroughs in scientific dream research, as well as astonishing facts about what dreams have to say about a dreamer’s state of mind.

With Tony Crisp’s knowledge and experience with dreams, Dream Dictionary brings readers to queue for the tour of tours: the tour into one’s own unconscious mind. The book contains eye opening information regarding the relevance of nightmares and how to face away with them. It also talks about the significance of recurring dreams, which actually have something to say about the dreamer’s state of thought towards something happening in his/her “waking life”. A part of the book talks about relationships and what one’s dreams may have to say about them. With career and work, the book also talks about what the implications are when it comes to dreams involving work, answering questions like: Am I happy with my career? Or, have I truly found myself in my work?

Through dream interpretation, the book helps dreamers understand old hurts felt from family, and provides guides in how to resolve them, as well as provides paths for gaining new perspectives. Solving problems in the “waking world” by addressing dreams is also tackled by the book, giving readers tips and information regarding the relevance of dreams to that of a dreamer’s attitude, or attitudes, towards problems and how to deal with them.

Overall insight, as well as general physical health, are also among the main benefits one could gain from the Dream Dictionary.

All in all, Dream Dictionary isn’t just another book telling readers what their dreams mean. It provides an overall approach in understanding dreams, making dreamers more one with themselves, as well as with the “waking world” they interact with.

With the title now being considered a “classic” when it comes to understanding dreams, Dream Dictionary indeed holds answers to questions relating to the meaning of dreams.

Interpretations of dreams have long been practiced since early times by the ancient Greeks and Egyptians who believed that dreams contained messages from supernatural or divine forces, the meanings of which can only be unfolded by people with special powers Today, however, the interpretations of dreams is offered by those who study dream analysis and/or psychology and the different dream theories.

Two of the major works on the interpretations of dreams were the 2nd century Greek book “Oneirocritica” by Artemidorus, the first written on the subject, and Sigmund Freud’s “The Interpretation of Dreams”.

Early Beliefs

During the ancient times in Greece, the sick were sent to temples to be cured in the belief that divine healing will come to them by keeping their dreams confined within the temple.

The ancient Greeks also regarded the interpretations of dreams as prophetic and contained important premonitions. Likewise, in Egypt, there was also great significance attached to dreams and the interpretations of dreams is performed by priests. In the Bible, there were many instances were dreams were described as revelations from God. The importance of dreams in the lives of Egyptians is clearly evident in hieroglyphics.

Different Approaches

Modern society continued to be fascinated with the interpretations of dreams. Many renowned and influential individuals in the field of psychology offered their own theories about what dreams mean including Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung and Calvin Hall. According to Freud, all dreams are based on the fulfillment of desires, which are often repressed. He theorized that the unconscious buries certain emotions and these are concealed in our dreams.

On the other hand, Carl Jung’s dream theories describe dreams as collective memories of the unconscious. In Jung’s interpretations of dreams, he talks of symbols that make up the content of dreams, which must be analyzed based on their significance to the dreamer.

Calvin Hall developed a cognitive approach to the interpretations of dreams, wherein he described dreams as simply series of thoughts that emerge during sleep and that the content of dreams visually represent the dreamer’s notions or perceptions.

New Age interpretations of dreams take on a more spiritualistic approach. Some believe that when they dream they are able to connect with their spirit and that in the state of dreaming, one’s inner self can provide answers to all questions. There are also dream interpreters who believe that dreams come from the soul’s terrain or from the upper, middle and lower interior worlds. They consider some characters in dreams as divine messengers who give the dreamer the gift of wisdom and self-enlightenment. Dreaming of certain animals can enable a person to acquire the gift of healing.

If you have dreams that are bothering you and you just need to know what they mean, there are many resources where you can find free meaning of dreams. Maybe you have a friend who is into dream interpretation. He or she will most likely have books on dream meanings that you two can consult.

If you want to interpret your dreams on your own, you can simply buy your own dream dictionary from the self-help section of either offline or online bookstores. These books can cost anywhere from $9 to $13 dollars. However, if you do not want to spend on books or CDs on dream meanings, many websites on the subject offer free meaning of dreams. They may not be as comprehensive but they cover many of the common dream themes and content.

Some opt to go to psychics or new age practitioners to interpret their dreams while those already in therapy with a psychology will also get the opportunity to discuss their dreams with their therapist. This is the recommended way of analyzing your dreams – do it with the help of a professional, especially if you have recurrent nightmares or disturbing dreams that frequently interfere with your sleep.

Otherwise, if you are just interested or fascinated with your dream life there is no need for you to seek professional medical help and free meaning of dreams that are available online will be enough to satisfy your curiosity. Be aware, though, that there are so called dream experts who may offer you their services. You need to check the credibility of these people before you pay them to interpret your dreams because they are usually frauds so you might as well stick with looking for free meaning of dreams.

A quick search online will show you websites that call themselves dream guides and these online resources commonly feature dream dictionaries, frequently asked questions about dreaming and dream meanings, dream science and psychology and the various theories, and of course free dream interpretation and free meaning of dreams. From these online dream guides, you can get other free tools that can help you unravel the mysteries of your dreams from videos to e-books and psychic readings aside from the free meaning of dreams.

In addition, you can also join blogs about dream interpretation where you can read new articles and join discussions about dreams and their meanings. It is a great way to share your dream experiences with other people who share your interest in dreams. The people you meet online through blogs and forums can also offer you their free meaning of dreams.

Whether you have simple or big dreams, the challenge for as for anyone is how to turn dreams into reality. If you know what you want but you are not sure how to make it happen, you need to take the time to figure out what you need to do. Otherwise, you will only be floating with your dreams without achieving anything.

Action is what will turn dreams into reality. Map out concrete steps to realizing your dreams in life. Identify a realistic time frame to accomplish each step. “As soon as possible” will not work as a time frame. It has to be specific – at the end of the year, after three months, etcetera.

Additionally, write down specific steps that will take you where you want to be. More importantly, take that first step. It will be the hardest thing to do especially if you have to sacrifice something big but you need to muster your courage in order to turn dreams into reality.

Sometimes radical steps must be taken but sometimes, too, taking baby steps will work just fine. Either way, the important thing is that you are doing something now to turn dreams into reality. The steps that you will take will depend on your own situations in life – They could involve moving to a new environment to attend school or start a job, giving up certain indulgences or forcing yourself out of your comfort zone.

The latter is quite difficult to do for many and is one of the main reasons why one fails to turn dreams into reality. Fear can grip a person and render him or her either paralyzed or running away. Facing your fear, whatever it is, is crucial to turn dreams into reality. If you dream of becoming a published novelist but you are afraid of rejection and criticism, then you are shelving your dreams. Your dreams are as good as dead unless you face your fears head on, write and have the courage to show your work to other people and, of course, to book agents or publishers.

You have to start somewhere and knowledge is very important when you are taking your first few steps. Not only do you need to be aware of your own strengths and weaknesses but you also need to have practical knowledge of your dream. If you want to become a successful businessman, learn as much as you can about the specific line of business you want to pursue. Get as many relevant experiences as possible to prepare yourself when you finally get your big break, which is oftentimes when you create the opportunities that let success happen.

Physical therapy –The words ring out as something a masseuse would do, or for those of malicious thinking, something very kinky. Not a lot of people know what physical therapy is per se. Strictly speaking, physical therapy is a hands-on, direct form of professional patient care, bursting the bubble of green minded readers; physical therapy is not anything kinky. Far from it, for it is a form of rehabilitation for those with physical impediments and / or illnesses.

Physical therapy is most often used for stroke patients, although birth defects and post-operative problems are also common patients for physical therapists. Stroke victims, more often than not, suffer physical harms that limit movement and other motor skills depending from the severity of the stroke. Paralysis is a common ailment suffered by stroke victims, albeit partial or half their bodies are rendered useless. It is these patients that physical therapists often encounter in their careers. Of course, physical therapists aren’t exclusive to stroke patients, victims of traffic mishaps for example, or other accidents are also common patients.

Whatever the affliction, those people who need physical therapy are the ones who have lost physical abilities they consider normal or to be more specific, people who need therapeutic solutions for their physical maladies. Exercises, therapeutic massages, or if worse comes to worst, helping patients adapt to physical disabilities are but a few of what physical therapists offer to would-be patients. In other words, physical therapy is a branch of medicine that deals with patients who had physical repercussions, so to speak, from other medical conditions that debilitate people’s motor skills. Whether it be healing those effects or at least making patients get used to it, physical therapists help people live through or live with their physical complaints.

Physical therapy, a word that used to connote masseuses or kinky thoughts for green minded individuals, now is a word that depicts healing and rehabilitation. Naiveté has caused the words physical and therapy to mean something far removed from what it truly stands for. Never the mind, for physical therapy is here and it helps people recover, whether they are naive or not. If ever, God forbid, anything happens to you and you need physical rehabilitation for your affliction, thank God that physical therapy is available. Three cheers for physical therapy friends, without it, many a people would be rendered helpless or at least be hobbling down the path you tread.

There are so many forms and systems of yoga meditation that are being popularized in many parts of the world today, many of which have been developed based on experience, scientific research and study, others from mental speculation. Some may see some results and experience some benefits, yet others may end up frustrated. Learning the real meaning of Yoga Meditation and tracing its authoritative source is deemed to guide yoga meditation practitioners from being misled and help them attain the real benefits and goals of yoga meditation.

Yoga Meditation means controlling the mind and material senses by focusing on the energy within the body. As such, it can be understood that controlling the mind is very difficult as the mind is restless and very easily agitated. Since birth, the mind has been contaminated with all sorts of false ego, pride, lust, and desires and thus an individual is always disturbed by various anxieties. Learning to calm the mind and to tap the energy within is one of the main goals of yoga meditation. And this is still possible if we can follow the basic principles of yoga meditation outlined as follows:

“There is no possibility of one’s becoming a yogi, if one eats too much or eats too little, sleeps too much or does not sleep enough. He should be regulated in his habits of eating, sleeping, recreation and work.”

“To practice yoga, one should go to a secluded place and follow the proper sitting postures. One should then try to fix his mind on one point and purify the heart by controlling his mind, senses and activities.”

“In the stage of perfection called trance, one’s mind is completely restrained from material mental activities, by practice of yoga. This perfection is characterized by one’s ability to see the self by the pure mind and to relish and rejoice in the self. In that joyous state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness, realized through transcendental senses. Established consequently, one never departs from the truth, and upon gaining this he thinks there is greater gain. Being situated in such a position, one is never shaken, even in the midst of greatest difficulty. This indeed is believed to be actual freedom from all miseries arising from material contact”.

“One should hold one’s body, neck and head erect in a straight line and stare steadily at the tip of the nose. Thus, with an unagitated, subdued mind, devoid of fear, completely free from desires, one should meditate upon the energy within and realize his true identity in relationship with the whole cosmic creation”

“Therefore practicing constant control of the body, mind and activities, the yogi’s regulated mind, attains to the highest goal of life by cessation of material existence.”

Yoga Meditation is not as simple as it may seem, it needs one to be truly ready both physically and mentally, as the goal of yoga meditation is not just of the body but most importantly, liberty of the mind from all material connection as well.

Doesn’t water suggest life? Since the dawn of time, water has possessed an overflow of revitalizing healing properties. Water cleanses, purifies, soothes. In more medical terms it eliminates inflammation and infection. Helping healing better, and more cheaply, than many of our chemically advanced concoctions, the simple molecule does so much more it may be futile to ask why – just how.

In hydrotherapy or aquatic physical therapy, patients are gently immersed in warm water. This form of underwater therapy aims to assist patients to overcome conditions where movement is limited because of paralysis or pain, or where the patient’s muscles have been weakened due to injury or illness. Water immersion allows patients to exercise painlessly, even pleasurably, aiding a hasty recovery from a wide variety of conditions.

Aquatic physical therapy has been used for decades as an integral part of treatment for severe arthritis or post knee or hip surgery. Fibromyalgia or rheumatic syndrome, a condition characterized by body aches, pain, sleep disturbances, fatigue, and anxiety, combined with tenderness and whose cause is unknown, is also healed by aquatic physical therapy. Ankylosing Spondylitis, a form of arthritis where the spinal vertebrae become progressively inflamed and the spine eventually becomes fused, making movement very limited, also benefits from the hydro treatment. Even in some serious neurological conditions, the aquatic physical therapy can increase mobility as well as the power in the muscles by allowing movement in muscles normally unable to move. Though it cannot help the illness, aquatic physical therapy can also help to re-instruct muscles to get over damage from stroke or accidents.

Regrettably, aquatic therapy still has its share of limitations. Pure water therapy cannot help patients who are incontinent for hygiene reasons, as well as those with skin conditions or allergies to chlorine. And it is unsuitable for people who have high blood pressure as hydrotherapy raises the blood pressure.
Nonetheless, hydro/aquatic physical therapy especially helps therapists help their patients because being immersed in warm water makes the buoyant movement much easier as the water lifts the limbs, improving joint movement and getting the joints working effectively again, in contrast to painful movement against gravity.

The qualified aqua therapist has three primary objectives in performing therapy in warm water for his patients: to abolish gravity, allowing the body to float and amplifying the power in the muscles, and providing greater movement of a specific limb or joint; to conduct gentle exercises because of its effective resistance to movement; and to relax the muscles and ease the pain with the water’s warmth and healing powers. And to look at it simply, hydrotherapy is just an underwater exercise…

If you’re a mom-to-be, then you will probably agree that most pregnant women feel discomfort and added stress on their bodies at various points in their pregnancies. This is why more and more pregnant women are turning to aromatherapy massage pregnancy as they began to discover all the benefits the science has to offer.

What is aromatherapy massage pregnancy?

Aromatherapy massage pregnancy offers various therapeutic benefits for pregnant women who are feeling the discomfort of having another life growing inside their bodies. Aromatherapy massage pregnancy focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be.

The essential oils used in aromatherapy massage pregnancy contain elements that make them therapeutic and beneficial to your health. The aroma helps promote emotional and spiritual health. Aromatherapy massage pregnancy enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

While you’re pregnant, your body goes through the dramatic changes of the childbirth experience so naturally you will need all the help you can get to help ease the discomfort brought by these changes. In the United States, aromatherapy massage pregnancy is a fast-growing field, attracting the interest of labor and delivery nurses, nurse-midwives, childbirth educators, and obstetricians.

What are the benefits?

The benefits of aromatherapy massage pregnancy include emotional support and nurturing touch, relaxation and decreased insomnia, stress relief on weight-bearing joints, such as ankles, lower back, and pelvis, and neck and back pain relief caused by muscle imbalance and weakness, among others.

How is it done?

Aromatherapy massage pregnancy can be done in different ways. Sometimes, pregnant women are made to lie on their sides during a session of aromatherapy massage pregnancy. With the emergence of pillows specifically designed for expectant moms, you can also lie on your bellies for aromatherapy massage pregnancy to be administered on those painful back muscles.

After the first 22 weeks of pregnancy, lying flat on your back can cause pressure on deep blood vessels, due to the growing baby. This leads to the reduction of circulation to you and your baby. To avoid this problem, pillows can be used to ensure that you are lying down and looking at the wall rather than the ceiling. An aromatherapy massage pregnancy will also be a great help.

Is it safe?

Aromatherapy massage pregnancy is usually safe for most mothers. Your aromatherapy massage pregnancy therapist will want to know if you are having any problems or complications with your pregnancy before you begin.

Aromatherapy massage pregnancy is advised for the following conditions: heavy discharge (watery or bloody), diabetes, contagious illnesses, fever, vomiting, unusual pain, pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure, morning sickness, and abdominal pain.

Fear of failure is also normal. The problem is when it prevents you to live your dreams. It is normal to feel afraid as you follow your dreams. Some fears are logical like if you give up your job to pursue a dream, wouldn’t you go hungry in the first year? The solution to these what-if questions is to first, consider them. Think of all the possible scenarios that can come up as you follow your dreams and then look for ways to deal with those potential problems. While it is often said that you should take the leap if you want to follow your dreams, this does not mean that you will go ahead blindly. You need to prepare yourself, just do not take too long in the process that you lose your opportunity all together.

Change your perspective about failure. Oftentimes, when people fail they automatically view themselves as failures. They completely lose self-confidence. When you feel you are a failure then you believe that anything you do will fail. This self-perception is dangerous because it can put you in a cycle of failures. You have to realize that it is not who you are as a person that failed but what you planned or did. Yes, perhaps you made a mistake but that mistake was the failure and not you. When you recognize the distinction it will give you the confidence to try and follow your dreams again.

Optimism is something that you must have in order to follow your dreams. Without it, you will give up at the first sign of difficulty or disappointment. You might not even try to follow your dreams if all you think about are the things that will happen wrong. However, over enthusiasm is another thing. When you are really excited about something, it is easy to get carried away about your expectations. You need to find a balance between being enthusiastic and being realistic. Make sure that you follow your dreams but you stay grounded in reality.

When you step out and follow your dreams, you are already doing something extraordinary. You probably know so many people who seem content just talking about their wishes and dreams and are never really doing anything to achieve them because they do not want to deal with their fears. Do not let fear hinder you to follow your dreams. By overcoming your fear, you are transforming yourself from a dreamer to a doer and that is the key to success.
