A second recall of shell eggs has been issued, this time by Hillandale Farms of Iowa Inc., because of possible Salmonella contamination. Salmonella, is a type of bacterium which can cause sickness in an infected person – it can be a serious and life-threatening infection if the patient is frail, elderly, a very young child/baby, or has a weakened immune system.
