How to Complete Jumping Jacks
By admin on Sep 19, 2010 in Health and Fitness
Today’s post is going to walk you through exactly how to complete a set of “jumping jacks” with proper form. This is the 2nd exercise relating back to the post on the “super simple beginner weight loss workout” that I outlined for you.
Although most people have seen a set of jumping jacks completed (or tried them yourself), here is how to get the most out of them:
1. Stand with your feet together
2. Place you arms by your sides with your hands by your hips
3. Jump out with both feet parallel to each other and at the same time raise both arms overhead
4. Jump your feet back together and bring your arms back down by your sides
5. Repeat for 20-30 repetitions or for 30-60 seconds
An important reminder is that if you don’t feel that coordinated at first or are a little overweight, I would recommend not jumping out quite so far and keeping your knees slightly bent throughout the set. This will minimize the impact on your joints and keep your muscles working more.
The other great thing about jumping jacks is that you can do them anywhere so you’ll never be able to use the “there was no gym” excuse again to get out of a workout!
