Pumpkins are not only another pretty face — it’s the inside that counts. Pumpkins, a type of winter squash, provide us a wealth of nutrition for relatively few calories and zippo sodium and fat. And, for a sweet vegetable, it’s got an impressively low glycemic load.
Plus, its antioxidants (mostly the orange-colored carotenoids) may help us ward off seasonal colds, and fight heart disease.
