Live to Fight Again another Day

There are a growing number of people out there who believe that it is actually a good thing to feel like they are close to their breaking point when they are exercising. What’s even scarier is that actual training facilities are opening up dedicated to these unusually grueling workouts.
The issue with this type of hard core training is that it leaves your body broken down and significantly raises your cortisol levels leading to greater amounts of inflammation in your body. Not only can this stifle your weight loss hopes, but eventually your motivation to workout starts to wane.
Unless you’re in college, or you can get as much sleep as you’d like, I’d HIGHLY recommend staying away from exercise routines that punish your body (do you really need to be punished?).
Instead, I would look to gradually increase your exercise intensity by possibly adding in some type of interval training if you aren’t already doing so. Regardless of how you train, the goal should be to always leave your workout with more energy then you came into it.
