By admin on Jun 9, 2010 in Health and Fitness
My last few blog posts were about low blood glucose – the causes, the signs and symptoms and treatment. Experiencing low blood glucose can be a scary event for some so doing what you can to prevent it is key.
Here are some tips to prevent low blood glucose levels:
If you are going to eat less than you usually do remember to adjust your medications and/or reduce physical activity.
If you are drinking alcohol always eat foods along with it – never drink on an empty stomach.
If you are increasing your physical activity increase remember to increase your food intake and/or adjust your medications
Keeping records of your food intake, activity, blood glucose levels and medications will be your best tool in preventing low blood glucose levels.
