Prioritizing Your Workouts

In my last post I spoke about how the #1 reason 85% of the
population isn’t working out consistently is due to the fact that they believe
that they don’t have enough time.

Since we all have dozens of commitments involving work,
family, and social events and the same 24 hours it’s important to look at how
the 15% of the people who do consistently workout are able to fit it in.

I’ve found these consistencies among dedicated exercisers:

1.     Commitment
to a specific health or weight loss goal

2.     Prioritizing
their exercise as a health concern for them and their family

3.     Scheduling
workouts as they would any other appointment

4.     Often
working out before work when they wake up so that nothing can interfere later in
the day

5.     View
exercising as important as most other commitments, and therefore, it does not
get dropped as easily

So although your reasons for getting started and maintaining
a consistent exercise program may vary, it is important to make it a priority
in your schedule. If you’re still at a loss for how you can integrate exercise
into your life, I recommend starting out by exercising every other day before
your leave for work in the morning. This will help to create a healthy habit
that you can make a permanent part of your weekly routine!
