Stretching for Fat Loss
By admin on Aug 25, 2010 in Health and Fitness
Let’s be honest, stretching isn’t necessarily the most glamorous part of working out…
However, it is essential just the same and it is needed in order to create a well rounded healthy body. One of the ways that I want you to begin viewing stretching is that it is beneficial for more than just flexibility.
For example, by becoming more flexible you will increase the range of motion that you can using during certain exercises (especially leg based ones). This increased range of motion will allow you to get deeper into each eccentric phase of the movement (the lowering of the weight) which will subsequently trigger a greater muscular response. This improved depth will also get your heart rate pumping faster and give you the metabolic boost you are looking for when it comes to burning more fat.
Hopefully you now see how stretching really can improve your fat loss and you will start incorporating some dynamic warm-ups, as well as post workout static stretches to lengthen your muscles.
