Women’s Health & Beauty – Eye Care

Are the eyes the window to our soul? Well this maybe an old cliché but we can tell a lot about a person from their eyes; we might be able to tell if they need some extra sleep, another glass of water or even if they like us. The eyes are the first place we focus upon when we look at a person’s face and they are often one of the few features we can remember about that person. However, many of us neglect our eyes even though they work hard for us all day, struggling through a barrage of dust, wind, sunshine, VDUs and eye make-up.
The big question in eye care is should we use a separate cream for the eye? Well the skin around the eye is definitely more delicate and it has fewer oil glands, which leaves the eyes more prone to wrinkles and dryness. However, it might be enough to use your standard moisturiser around the orbital bone of the eye. This cream will then travel to the skin on and around the eye moisturising just enough for this delicate area.
It is often considered more damaging to use heavy creams directly on the eye area because the cream can cause more puffiness and the dragging of the skin with the fingers may also exacerbate this problem. Even so, there are many excellent eye products available. Here is a selection of some of the best eye products:
Eye Care Recommendations
Elemis Pro-Collagen Eye Renewal 15ml
This cream contains collagen fibres to help plump skin. The cream also helps to increase cell production. Helping to visibly improve wrinkles and dryness.
Gatineau Floracil Eye Make Up Remover
This eye make-up remover has the same pH as tears, no alcohol and soothes the eye while gently removing eye make-up. Floracil effectively removes most eye make-up but some brands of waterproof mascara are more difficult. However, the gentleness of this product out performs any slight hiccups.
Optrex Actimist Eye Spray – 10ml
If you are like me and suffer with tired eyes from lack of sleep or too much staring at the computer screen then this spray is perfect. I am a bit of sissy and I can’t put eye drops in my eyes or use a eye bath so this spray to use on closed eyes is a gift from the gods. The relief is instant, the only disadvantage being you can’t use it if you while wearing eye make-up it might smudge.
Origins No Puffery Cooling Mask For Puffy Eyes,
If you suffer from puffy eyes prone to darkness then Origins No Puffery is a soothing treatment that helps to reduce both. I like to use this lying in the bath. I tried cucumber but to be honest this is much more chic and less prone to falling in the bath.
Clarissa Hulse Eye Mask, Orchid
Of course one of the best tips is to get the optimum amount of sleep so why not by a fancy eye mask that helps to relax the eyes and shuts out any light, encouraging a peaceful night sleep. Oh and invest in some ear plugs as well just to be on the safe side.
Versace Logo Visor Sunglasses
The best and most effective eye care is a pair of sunglasses. The sun’s harmful rays cause wrinkles and eye strain. These type of sunglasses are a better option because they curve round the face and protect the eyes from the side also. The bonus is they are great looking sunglasses so treat yourself.
